Wonderful, Exciting, Informative !! Why have I waited so long to explore this ?? See ya in Baltimore.
Just started working on my family tree.
All of you people should join our Assoc. - Get back copies of our CFA Journals - they can be ordered from website or you can search them at local libraries in U.S. The 27 volumes are loaded with genealogical info on the Callaways.
Member 24-25 years. A wonderful group of people and a group of wonderful people! Join today. I have brochures you can request. The Assoc. has U.S. records from 1600's up, and working now on English roots.
There is a wealth of information at this site; thank you for posting the resources. The census records were extremely helpful in resolving a few questions that I had about my connection to the Callaway family. For what it's worth, I might be able to shed light on the Thomas Gardner Davis who is enumerated with James Wylie Callaway on the 1900 census of Clark County, AR. My Callaway connection appears to be John S. T. Callaway & Amy Stamps > Jonathan O. Callaway & Emily Hemphill Fish > Samuel Davis Callaway, who married Anna Amelia Cave in Clark County, AR, in 1866.( The putative ancestors of John S. T. Callaway are Flanders Callaway & Rebecca Boone, Daniel Boone's daughter?)
Love your site. I am a gg-granddaughter of Lemuel Callaway, son of Job Callaway and Rebecca Ragan. I am not a current member, but plan to join. What a great idea to archive your guest book. I'm looking for relatives here.
Enjoyed visiting the site; I need to visit more often. Hope someday to find someone researching my Gallia County, Ohio line. You are a great bunch of people!! Keep up the great work!!

One day I will research my ancestors...
Very Interesting site, although very much American (and therefore C spelling) focused, so of less interest at present to those of us with English ancestors and no link (yet!) to USA. My family is from the Isle of Wight, mainly from St.Helens/Ryde/Newchurch/Northwood (East side of the Island) and I have traced them to the marriage of Thomas Kelloway to Sarah Young in 1785 in Northwood (Cowes) I would love to hear from anyone interested in this branch of our family and anyone with information on any Isle of Wight Kelleways/Callaways Keep up the good work.
My Grandmother was a Callaway. Florence Elizabeth Callaway. Daughter of John Green Callaway I saw the name of a person that I have been trying to get a hold of. Her name is Audrey Gibson from Louisiana.
Grandfather, William Shadrach Callaway, SR, married to Fannie Pope; Father William Shadrach Callaway, JR (died Nov. 1975 in Atlanta, GA) married to Dagmar (Dee Dee) Johnson; Brothers: William Shadrach, III, Warren Jason, and Robert Pitt Callaway. My father was raised in Locust Grove and Atlanta, GA. My grandfather William had three brothers, Raymond, Eugene and John, and one sister Thelma, all from Atlanta. Somehow we are related to the Callaways from Callaway Gardens and Bo Callaway from Colorado. Plan on taking more time to look thru this site.

Hi, I'm Sandi I am the great great grand daughter of the Delilah Baird that you published about in the article of the Callaway sisters..... I've never found anything to indicate that she and John Holtzclaw were married, just curious if you knew anything about this. Also I would like to research more on John Holtzclaw... since he'd be my great great grandfather, whether they were married or not. Any thing you may know about them both might be new to me and I'd love to hear. Thank you Sincerely Sandi Winchester
I just started looking at your webpage as a referral from another cousin. Looks like a lot of research has been conducted.
My paternal grandmother was a Callaway.
I am a Cluck researcher and noticed Annie Pickney Cluck. What do you have on her? I have about 7,000 Southern Clucks with roots in TN.
HI My GG Grandmother was an Eliza Kellaway Born in Sticklepath Devon England. She married a James Laughlin Born in Tooting Surrey England in the year 1878 in the district of Exeter England. Elizas Father was named as William on the certificate. Eliza had a Daughter Beatrice. Beatrice had at least two children out of wedlock, Kathleen Gladys 19th August 1900 and Elsie 12th March 1904, my Grandmother. She was born in the Union workhouse Alcester registered in Gillingham Dorset England. Beatrice had a son known to my mother as Uncle Reg. As his name was also Laughlin I think he was out of wedlock. Beatrice did marry and have another daughter. Hope this is of interest to you Jan

Super great web page. I'll be a member soon.
hello how is everyone doing
My great great grandmother was Sally Callaway, daughter of Zachariah and Ann Callaway. Zachariah was the son of Col. Richard Callaway and Frances Walton, daughter of Frances Sherwood and Robert Walton. Sallie Callaway married Daniel Neal and their son Caleb Neal married Esther Surber. Caleb and Esther's daughter Caroline married John Sheffield and these two were my mother's grandparents. A few generations away from the Callaways but proud of their contributions to this country!
I am originally from Georgia. Have been trying to research my family history. My Father was Marvin Lester Callaway, His father was Charles B Callaway and His father was Southern Rights Callaway, born in the civil war and named for the cause. Best I can tell his father was Jackson Callaway. Not sure if he was named after Andrew Jackson or Jackson County Georgia. Family forklore says we descended from a marriage of one of Daniel Boones Daughters and a Callaway Brother that moved to Georgia. My grandfather Charles was a part time Carpenter and Farmer, but mostly lived off the land, by hunting, trapping and farming, even though he lived in the 20th century.
just wanted to find out what you're all about?
I would be interested in CFA information about my grandfather Marsh Miller Callaway (kin to Mae Ryan Callaway) and Mark Stephen Callaway (father)
Hi, I am sure now that I am related to your Lesters. I will do more search and When I find the direct contact to your family I will ask to be a member. Hope to visit your site again soon. Carol
