HELP  -  HELP NEEDED
The Association urgently needs two volunteers, preferably in Georgia, who would be willing to take over the duties of "Mailer of the Journal" and "Mailer of the Census".
1. CFA Journal     Rusty Callaway, of Columbus, GA, is moving into an apartment and will no longer
have space to store the inventory of Journals from the last 25 years.     He mails only the Journals that are ordered extra during the year, and those for the people who join after the bulk mailing in June, when the new Journal comes out. He has nothing to do with the mass mailing which is handled by the firm which prints it. But, as you may have noticed, the return address on the envelope in which it is mailed, is Rusty's, so that any undeliverable Journals go to him for storage.     The quantity he mails fluctuates every year, and anyone interested in the job should contact Rusty at rustycal at aol.com or phone him at (706) 596-1292, to get details.
2. Census Records     John A. Callaway, Sr., of Conyers, GA, is unable to continue fulfilling orders for the Census Records (extracted for Callaway) as shown on the Order Form from the CFA web site
www.callawayfamily.org . This is the smallest of the two jobs, as not as many orders come in for the Census as for the Journal. But some storage space would be required. Russ and Heide Callaway have offered to provide more details on this job, and they can be reached by e-mail at r.callaway at juno.com . In both cases, of course, any expenses for mailing supplies and postage will be reimbursed, upon periodic submission of receipts. If you should decide to accept either of these challenges, would you please let Russ and Heide know, so that they will be able to arrange the transfer of materials. Thank you.

MEMBER BIOGRAPHY - (Removed from CFA Web Site Archives)

To respect the privacy of our members, none of the biographies submitted to CFA will be posted on the CFA Web Site Newsletter Archives.

Connie Burns Sherrill is the Chairperson of the STAR Membership Committee. For more information on how to become a STAR member, contact Connie at cbs at cei.net . Or visit our web site at www.callawayfamily.org.

Connie has informed me that there are two more STAR members since the last Bulletin. Congratulations to:
Christell Ricketts from Crossett, AR, and
Gladys May from Livingston, TX

CFA BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
On May 4 & 5, 2001, the Board will be holding its semi-annual meeting in Victoria, B.C., Canada. This will be the first time it has met outside the United States of America. At the end of the two days of business, there will be a banquet at the Laurel Point Inn on the Saturday evening. Any member (or prospective member), who is in the area, is invited to join the Board at a reception at 6:00 PM, followed by dinner (Dutch treat). There will be an after-dinner speaker in the person of Sherry Irvine, a well-known Genealogist from Victoria. She has titled her talk: "The Commonwealth Gap, 1641 to 1660: What's Your Perspective?" If anyone reading this Bulletin is interested in attending, or knows of someone else who would be, please contact me at
callawaybill at shaw.ca as soon as possible, and definitely before April 23, so that catering arrangements can be finalized. We would love to see you there.

PRESIDENT ON THE GO
Our President, Victoria Jennings, Ph.D., has had a horrendous business travel schedule this year. Having recently returned from a long trip to Indonesia, she is leaving today for Turkey, arriving back in the US in time for a meeting in Phoenix, AZ, from where she will fly to Victoria, B.C., for the Board meeting, leaving for Ecuador three days later. On top of all this, Victoria finds time to plan the agenda for the CFA Business meeting. My sincere wish is that she will one day write a Bio for the Bulletin, so we may gain a better understanding of the very demanding job that she does so well.

CHAT ROOM
Kermit Bridges
, Chat Room Facilitator, wishes to remind you that the regular monthly Chat takes place tonight. And that's not an April Fool's joke. Nor is the fact that you should have turned your clocks AHEAD one hour last night. So the time for joining the Chat Room is 10:00 pm EDT (or 7:00 pm PDT) and anything in between, depending on where you live. Hope to see you there. Go to
www.callawayfamily.org and click on Chat Room, then follow instructions. Try it ahead of time, and if you have a problem, contact Kermit at jundal at verizon.net .

There is still more to come, including an International Bio from Bill Kellaway Piper of England. But to ensure that you receive this on April 1, I will e-mail it to you now. More later. Bill Callaway, CFANET Coordinator, Parksville, B.C., Canada

CFANET BULLETIN 2001 - # 4
April  2001
Conclusion

April 9, 2001

CFA WEB SITE
Donna Morgan, our Webmaster, has added two new pages to our web site.
1. Photo Gallery - It has pictures from various volumes of the CFA Journal, a publication which contains a wealth of documented data for Callaway research.
2. Bulletin Board - At Kermit Bridges' suggestion in the last Chat Room, Donna has built a bulletin board for our Callaway site. It is for any comments, queries, questions and discussions, etc., relating to the surname Callaway (all spellings). Check them out at
www.callawayfamily.org

MEMBER BIOGRAPHY - (Removed from CFA Web Site Archives)

To respect the privacy of our members, none of the biographies submitted to CFA will be posted on the CFA Web Site Newsletter Archives.

Bill Piper's web site has been mentioned in previous issues of the Bulletin, and you will remember his "Foxy Story" in January. His newsletter, "Kellaway Link",  should be read by all.

Bill has compiled all the "international conversations" between Sherrill Williams, Bruce Callaway and Warwick Kellaway which took place early in 2001.  They can be found as a link on his home page, or directly at http://members.tripod.co.uk/dreycott/kellchat.htm . When printed, it amounts to about 30 pages, but makes fascinating reading. Such depth of research!

Bill Piper can be e-mailed at bill@dreycott.screaming.net The next International Bio should come from Canada. Any volunteers?

INTERESTING WEB SITES
Donna Morgan, has come up with some more good web sites which she would like you to know about.
http://www.vitalchek.com "Here's a web site that is really becoming useful. More and more records are becoming available this way. I've ordered several death certificates already and they usually come in about 2 weeks, sometimes a little longer. You can get birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates from most states." http://censustools.com "This one offers custom designed spreadsheets for collecting data. (Microsoft Excel). I love them because I'm so unorganized when I go to the library to comb the census films and other sources. These really help me. See what you think."

Thanks, Donna, for the tips. Keep them coming.

HELP NEEDED
To date, there has been no response to the request for two volunteers to take over duties of mailing the Journal and the Census. If you would be willing to help, please contact Russ and Heide Callaway at
r.callaway at juno.com for details. Thank you.
